“This is a fun five-note scale warmup to help elementary/beginning band students learn the first five notes of the concert F scale. It comes with folding pages that can be folded in half for assessing students on scales, and it comes in a 3D folding prism where students can practice their scales in one of three ways!
Folding Sheet (1 fold)
- Can hang from top of music stand
- Side 1: students to write in measure numbers and note names
- Side 2: students play the scale without labeling notes
Triangular Prism (2 folds)
- Can rest on ledge of music stand
- Side 1: students number the measures and label the note names
- Side 2: students play the scale without labeling notes
- Side 3: has a blank staff where students draw their notes onto the staff
This is a great tool for differentiation because students can read from the side that meets their needs. They can also save the sheets and play the more difficult sides as their skills improve. You can also use the note labeling sides as an assessment or homework grade.
