Description
Use this Google Slides Scavenger Hunt activity for music distance learning or in the classroom as a fun movement break for your lessons. Students look for found sounds that resemble classroom percussion instruments that you shake, scrape, or strike! They will have fun showing off their creative examples, whether they use objects from home or body percussion.
Find the PowerPoint version here!
Once students are given an example like jingle bells, they will look for a similar found sound like a set of keys. Simple objects and creative use of the body should be encouraged. It’s not about the object but how creative kids can get with what’s nearby.
After the timer ends, students will echo or create a rhythm on their new instruments. I have added some very basic ta, titi rhythm cards at the end of the presentation but feel free to use other digital flashcards or just echo by ear. You can also use this as a weekly activity and show 1 or 2 slides a week.
